Roger's affiliation with Greece started in 1999 when he first went to teach a masterclass in Kalavrita. Since then, he has returned many times, giving masterclasses, working with the Athens Philarmonic brass section, and for the "annual Bobo holiday retreat" in August on the island of Lesvos. Canada is home to Roger's favourite international masterclass: Domaine Forget. Not only two weeks of intense tuba study, it's a place to have a lot of fun and get to know colleagues. Not to mention the poutine, great Quebec beer, and the annual margarita party! Domaine 1999-2002 Domaine 2003 Domaine 2004 |

Roger's fascination with Japan and all things Japanese began when touring with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, later to be reinforced when he began to work closely with Yamaha. It's currently a prominant country in his events calendar, as he returns annually to give masterclasses, private lessons and to catch up with friends and former students. Japanese photos |

In 1990, Roger came to Italy for what was to be a one year sabbatical from the LAPO. One year stretched to two, then three, and so it went, as Roger found himself a very important figure in the development of the tuba (and brass instruments in general) in Italy. He currently enjoys an annual class for brass instruments at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole near Florence. Fiesole photos |
